Business Development Update on DNC & Demak Motor
Introduction
With dynamic changes taking place in the borderless business environment today, many companies are finding it difficult to compete effectively both locally and internationally. However, on a positive note, Malaysia had witnessed an uptrend and surge in recent years in both its automotive and the motorcycle industry, thanks to Asia’s strong demand for Malaysian motorcycles that represented at least 86% of the global sales, which is attributed largely to booming markets in China, India and South East Asian countries.

Incorporated in Kuching Sarawak, DNC Asiatic Holdings Sdn. Bhd.( “DNC”) , has proved its own success story in the competitive Asian motorcycle industry in a few years time. Ever since the first debut in Malaysia market as a nonentity in early 2003, the company has been successfully building up and promoting our own brand “DEMAK” and its series motorcycle products. Till now, DNC has successfully produced and marketed more than more than 20 models of motorcycles under DEMAK brand, covering Scooters, mopeds, utility and sports, series and accessories.

Through years of operation and market experience, DNC has secured solid market share in Malaysia, as well as reliable production capacity, widely-covered marketing and servicing networks, self-owned market-oriented Designing capability, as well as a highly professional and efficient management system within the group.

Located in Demak Laut Industrial Park in Kuching, DNC’s assembly plant is currently the largest motorcycle project in East Malaysia as well as the Borneo region at large. The Kuching Plant is comprised of 82,000 sqt built-up area with installed capacity of 60,000 units per year under total employment of more than 100 staff.

With the newly allocated 9-acres land in Demak Laut Phase III from Sarawak State government, DNC is further planning on the Engine Assembly, Plastic Injection Moulding, Hardware Fabrication and manufacturing activities at later stage, to further improved Demak’s quality and cost efficiency.

Overseas Export Market

Today Demak emerges as a formidable force with its winning strides that had gained the confidence of both users and the government. Looking across borders with pride, DNC is fast expanding beyond the Malaysian shores. To promote Demak motorcycles as Malaysia-Branded products into the export market on sustainable basis, DNC has obtained various licenses and accreditations from Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines authorities for supplying and marketing Demak motorcycles to the two markets since year 2004.

* Demak Indonesia Operations

Since 2005, the company has obtained type approvals for 2models of scooters, 5 moped moped models and 1 tricycle model from the Ministry of Trade and Industry Indonesia (DPDP). Demak dealers in West Kalimantan has increased to 8 by June 2006, which will increase to 15 by August 2006. Meanwhile, in early 2006, 3 models of Demak motorcycles are delivered to the Technical Division of Columbia for testing, all receiving satisfactory results and credits from the Columbia Group, which is known as one of the largest conglomerate retailer and financier of electronics & motorcycles in Indonesia ( http://www.columbia.com.id).

* Demak Philippines Operations

In Jan 2006, Demak motorcycles from Malaysia started to make its debut in Philippines market. In the same month, we also open the an 3-in-1 Demak Motocycle Center In 10th Avenue of Caloocan City, Metro Mania, which is known as the Motorcycle Avenue cum trading hub for the whole northern Philippines. In March 2006, Demak joined force with Emcor Group which is the 2nd largest motorcycle wholesaler / retailer in Philippineto distribute and finance the sales Demark motorcycle through Emcor’s 165 outlets nationwide
